ILO demands safer work

In a press release, ILO Director-General, Juan Somavia, celebrated the rescue operation to free the 33 miners trapped underground for more than two months in a mine in northern Chile. Determined the achievement as a lesson for all and the importance of improving working conditions in activities deemed dangerous. The Director concluded with a universal appeal to a greater awareness to increase safety at work.
