UE-Mexico Dialogues - Electronic Clinical Record

In the second workshop of the Seminar, described the experience of countries in the European Union, France, Britain and Spain, where described in order that efforts in Mexico to develop an Electronic Medical Record system (EMR) have the added value that these European experiences can give.

Among the different proposals, it was emphasized the need to demonstrate the advantages of implementing an EMR especially since the financial terms and investment in ICT infrastructure. Similarly, it stressed the need for a single patient record, which is essential for the establishment of single national standard using the CURP. And also mentioned the importance of establishing mechanisms of coordination between different health institutions: SSA, IMSS and ISSSTE.
