Seminar in San Salvador - Advances in Conditional Transfer Programs (PTC) for poverty reduction... continued

In many cases the PTC achieved to mitigate the effects of the current economic crisis on the poorest groups, ensuring the access and quality of service supply and continuity in local capacity building, a permanent system that responds to the shock.

The programs are targeted to groups in extreme poverty, starting with partial coverage and is gradually expanded to cover most or all of the poor or extreme poor in terms of education, health, food for children and pregnant women.

The most important achievements are poverty and hunger eradication, along with universal education, reduction of child mortality and improvement of maternal health.
