Two interesting notes on Mexico

The first note talks about the slowdown that the unemployment rate had in October. According to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI), the unemployment rate had a significant decrease of 0.47 basis points last month compared to September. The rate stood at 5.94 percent as a proportion of the Economically Active Population, compared to the maximum 6.41 percent recorded in September.

The second note refers to the loan by $491 million dollars approved by the World Bank (WB) for the prevention and control of influenza virus A H1N1 in Mexico. Gloria Grandolini, WB Director for Mexico and Colombia, said that the loan aims to monitor the spread of influenza viruses, the latter mitigate outbreaks and strengthen the Mexican health system so that it can have a better control of other infectious diseases.
