Obama urges Congress to act on health care
According to CBC News, U.S. President Barack Obama urged politicians to end years of inaction and strike a deal on a national health-care plan. In his speech, Obama said that the proposed reform to the law does not mean a change for Americans who already have health insurance. The government will impose limits on the maximum cost that may be charged to policyholders for out-of-pocket expenses. Also, insurers will need to cover routine checkups and preventive care procedures, such as mammograms and colonoscopies. For Americans without coverage, the government proposed a new insurance exchange, with which individuals and small businesses will be able to hire any health insurance at competitive prices.
