Call for Papers: Efficiency and Equity Challenges in Public Child Care Provision

The Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS) and the Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO), with the support of The World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, are jointly organizing the conference "Efficiency and Equity Challenges in Public Child Care Provision". The aim of this conference is to help systematize and socialize evidence in relation to the efficiency and equity implications of public subsidies to child care provision, as well as their effect on female labor participation, intra-household arrangements and inter-generational welfare impacts --through the impact on early childhood development. Particular emphasis will be made on papers related to Latin America and The Caribbean.

After a blind peer review, the selected articles will be published on Well-Being and Social Policy, an academic journal jointly coordinated by the CISS / IBERO published in both English and Spanish.

Organizers will pay airplane tickets in economy class, food, and accommodations during the conference for those authors whose articles are accepted and who consent to publish their work in the journal Well-Being and Social Policy. The articles accepted to participate in the conference are not necessarily accepted for publication in the journal. Proposals should be sent to bienestar.politicasocial@gmail.com.
