UN: Youth unemployment increases

At the United Nations High-level Meeting on Youth, held yesterday and today, the UN reported that the economic recession led to higher youth unemployment. The unemployment rate increased from 11.9 to 13%, which now number 81 million unemployed youth. In addition, the meeting noted that even when they work, young people tend to work longer hours than adults, in exchange for lower wages and informal schemes and no social security.
