Public-Employee Unions
In his blog, Posner, speaks of public-employee unions. Unlike private unions, which have a negative effect on employers, the net effect of public employee unions is difficult to determine. However, recent events in Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin (see previous note) concerning the rights of public sector unions, suggests that these unions do make a difference: they are an important factor in so splendid health and pension benefits that public employees receive, wich are placing an inmense debt burden on states and cities. See complete note here.
