Long term unemployment, an increasing problem

In the United Stated people actively searching for job and without work for more than 27 weeks (threshold that defines long term unemployment) increased dramatically in the last months. Moreover, on average the number of weeks without work has also increased for those unemployed. This is a real problem for those above 45 and with low education.
