The CISS, UIA and the Seguro Popular are organizing the conference “Challenges in Achieving Universal Health Insurance Systems”, see the call for papers here. The challenges that publicly subsidized health systems need to overcome in order to improve the well being of the population are huge. As the following graphs shows, more public resources to health may be a necessary condition but not a sufficient one.
