Workshop on social cohesion and social protection

Last week experts from Mexico and Europe gather in Mexico City in order to talk and conceptualize new forms in which social protection can achieve social cohesion. One of the main identified areas in which Mexico needs to advance is in the articulation of contributory (any scheme DB or DC) and non contributory programs. As argued by the CISS in several forums, achieving universal coverage is only the first step, eliminating the segmentation of schemes is also very important to improve on equity and satisfaction.
