Universal care to pregnant women in Mexico

President Felipe Calderón presented yesterday the national strategy to reduce maternal mortality in Mexico, which provides universal free care to pregnant women in the federal health institutions, even if the women is not entitled she can be treated in any public hospital.

This strategy aims to reduce maternal mortality rate by 75%, going from 89 deaths for every thousand children born in 1990 to not more than 22 in 2015.
