The Mexican health information system is sick

The current influenza episode in Mexico has shown the inability of the Ministry of Health to consolidate information in a highly segmented and decentralized health system (see scheme of the Mexican health system in a previous note). A correctly filled table like the one presented below for sick and dead persons identifying possible and proved cases is not only required to make better planning of the resources but also needed to clarify all the otherwise confounding numbers that have been said since the influenza stroke the country.
