Global crisis: on the impact of crisis in DB private pension plans in United States
The reductions in the assets prices registered in the United States have implied a USD 300 billion shortfall, assets vs. future pension liabilities, in the 500 companies in the S&P 500 index. The shortfall may have an effect in some corporate cash flow if the markets do not recover soon, as firms have to build new reserves to address the imbalance. See the complete note here.
