Weeks of paid absence during maternity leave - special conditions -
Most countries of the world entitle women to maternity leave periods, but there are only a few countries in America that consider special conditions regarding the period granted: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, and Peru. Some of the conditions taken into account are if the baby is born with Down’s syndrome, if there has been a miscarriage, if parents are adopting, or if there have been multiple births. The following graph shows the weeks of paid leave granted to mothers in special conditions.
