Fast-food toys banned in California

According to this article, a county in California is prohibiting restaurants to induce children into consuming high-calorie food by giving away toys as a package deal. Fast food is considered, by the County public health officials, as an important factor in elevating obesity rates in America. Fat, salt and sugar, according to health officials, are an addictive combination and if rewarded with a toy, the habit is even harder to quit.

Fast-food chains and restaurateurs may propose a better solution; otherwise the ban is expected to take effect in 90 days from April 28th. The ban is subject only to meals that do not meet a set of basic nutrition standards.
